James Eagle Feather

Born on the north side of Omaha NE, Eagle Feather experienced a difficult childhood marked by instability and violence. Removed from his home at age 8, he cycled through foster care, group homes, psychiatric institutions, and juvenile detention centers. He entered the adult prison system at 18, eventually serving an 18 and a half year sentence.

In 2017 he was released into a world he still didn't understand, but this time he was ready. Eagle Feather is now an author, motivational speaker, and mentor who uses his experiences with the justice system to help at-risk youth. He is now a prominent voice for redemption and resilience through speaking engagements, mentorship, and the arts. He has shared his story at TEDx Omaha, Toastmasters, and as a mentor with Omaha 360. At Anastasis, he appeared in the touring production of More Than a Number.
